Become a Greenpeace Africa supporter!

A big welcome to Greenpeace Africa who exhibited in Killarney Mall's clicks court from Tuesday, 27 January to Monday, 2 February. Greenpeace is the world's largest environmental activist group - actively fighting to stop the devastating onslaught on our environment for over 30 years.

Now with a permanent presence on the continent, and having recently opened their newest office in Johannesburg, Greenpeace Africa will be tackling climate change in South Africa, deforestation in the DRC and over-fishing in Senegal.

Globally Greenpeace campaigns against deforestation, toxic waste, marine damage from over fishing or waste dumping, nuclear issues and climate change, with the aim of promoting reserves and clean energy.

As an organization, Greenpeace do not accept funding from governments or businesses, allowing them to maintain their independence and objectivity. Therefore, it relies solely on donations from individuals to undertake this work.

Through the exhibitions in Killarney Mall, Greenpeace Africa encourages you to become a Greenpeace supporter so that you can help make a difference through creating an awareness and information platform to inform South African's of environmental issues as well as Greenpeace's campaigns to tackle these problems.

Learning about the issues, and being reminded that we can make a difference, is the beginning of all activism.

Healthy, fresh and delicious - the story of ANAT

The delicious authentic Middle- East food served by ANAT Falafel & Shwarma, is delightfully wrapped in over 60 years of tradition, family history and great taste!

ANAT Falafel & Shwarma, on the lower food court at Killarney Mall, is a Mediterranean food concept and an original brand that is healthy, fresh and delicious.

The concept developed as part of a long-standing family business when Anat's grandfather started selling falafel in Israel in 1945. Her father took over the business 21 years later, and today the same shop still exists and is owned and run by Anat's brother.

In 1991 ANAT was started in South Africa. It began with a small mobile unit at a market, selling only Falafel. On the first day of business, Anat sold fifty Falafel portions - consisting of soaked chickpeas mixed with vegetables and spices which is formed into balls and fried. The balls placed in a pita and served with various salads and sauces.

The meat-loving tastes of many South African's soon came to the attention of Anat and she decided to introduce the shwarma. Hungry customers saw the food, tasted the food and were soon hooked on it - resulting in queues of people waiting excitedly in line for their ‘fix'.

The falafel and shwarma are made exactly as they are made in the Middle- East. Everything is authentic and there is absolutely no cutting corners -- from the type of meat used, to the real tahina sauce, fresh falafel, salads, humus, fresh pita every day, homemade pickles, chilli and their famous home-made chips.

Get down to ANAT in Killarney Mall and indulge by with your choice of specially made shwarmas, falafel or lafas.
